5 out of 5 stars Fun Book   February 7, 2010

My son is 4 and he loves to "read" through it w/his tag pen. Its so cool how you can touch almost any character or object in the book and it will make a noise or say an extra comment. He loves it! While not exactly an educational book like some its still a lot of fun.

This book is great for my 5 yr old who loves Ben 10. Educational too! Recommend.

We always love Leapfrog products and this is no exception. My son is four years old and not yet a reader. He loves Ben 10, so we got him the Tag system with several of the books, including this one. It is one of the most interactive (better than "Ozzie and Mack" and the pirate book, not that they are bad by any means). My son loves to hear the various alien characters make their sounds.

We have only had the books for about two weeks, but it has not yet motivated him to learn to read. (We are using the Bob books for early literacy.) That being said, I think that it is important for him to learn that books are fun and that he can have fun with them all on his own (no adults required).

My son is a typical four-year-old. One of his first acts was to tear a page out of this book. (The paper is high-quality and thick.) I used scotch tape to tape it back in the book, and the page still works 'fine.'

If you have a four-year-old and you are choosing between Tag and and Leapster, my recommendation is to go with the Leapster. It is a more flexible, long-term toy. Of course, you can be like us and get both!
